Prueba 3 preguntas con formato real
A technician is inspecting the ball joints on a short/long-arm (SLA) front suspension where the coil spring is mounted on the lower control arm, making the lower ball joint the load-carrying joint and the upper ball joint the non-load-carrying (follower) joint. The lower ball joint has a built-in wear indicator (a grease-fitting boss that recedes into the housing as the joint wears).
Technician A says the lower ball joint's wear indicator must be checked with the full weight of the vehicle resting on the tire (tire on the ground, suspension loaded normally) — if the indicator boss is flush with or recessed into the housing, the joint is worn and must be replaced.
Technician B says the upper ball joint also has a built-in wear indicator, so it can be checked the same way as the lower joint just by looking at the boss.
